Sts. Simon Stock, Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross
Antique design with antique look and feel
وصف
The Carmelite Order is becoming very prominent in our days, as its ranks are filling with fervent souls from even among the laity. No doubt that this is a huge grace from God to come to the aid the Church in these inimical times! This medal is based on an ancient Carmelite medal. On one side the Blessed Virgin Mary appears to Simon Stock. Above them are the Latin words “REGINA DECOR CARMELI ORA PRO NOBIS,” which means, “O QUEEN, WHO ART THE BEAUTY OF CARMEL, PRAY FOR US.” On the reverse side of the medal, St. Joseph holds the Child Jesus, who is blessing with one hand, and holding a symbol of His sovereignty in the other. Above them are the words, “CONSTITUIT EUM DOMINUM DOMUS SUAE,” which means, “HE MADE HIM THE LORD OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.” (This is a Scripture quotation from the Litany of St. Joseph.) Kneeling and gazing upon them, are the holy founders of the Discalced Carmelite Order, St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. Between them is the Carmelite shield. An antique copper patina over a metal alloy gives this medal an ancient look and feel. It measures 1-1/2 in x 1-1/8 in.
