Danganronpa is a Japanese multimedia franchise, primarily known for its murder mystery visual novel video games, about a group of talented high school students trapped in a killing game. They are forced by a sadistic mechanical bear named Monokuma to murder each other to escape, with a trial taking place after each murder where the class must identify the culprit. If they correctly identify the killer, they are executed; if they are wrong, the killer goes free, and the rest of the students are killed.
