Portable forensic light kits are used by law enforcement and military units to detect and analyze evidence found during crime scene & battlefield investigations. An ALS (alternate light source) can emit multiple visible, and/or infrared (IR) light that is filtered to individual color bands (wavelengths). The wavelengths enhance the visualization of evidence, which may glow (fluoresce) or darken when illuminated using the ALS and viewed using the corresponding barrier filter. Different wavelengths enhance the appearance of different types of evidence; therefore, multiple wavelengths may be required to complete a thorough investigation of a crime scene.
