For over 35 years, Jacquard has been dedicated to meeting the needs of artists and crafters everywhere. Family owned and operated, we have been the leader in artist materials for fabric and are committed to offering top quality materials to everyone from professional artists to hobbyists and students. The Jacquard Cyanotype Kit is a complete set for creating stunning Prussian blue prints using sunlight or UV light. This kit includes everything needed to make cyanotype prints on fabric, paper, and other natural fiber surfaces. It comes with pre-measured sensitizer solutions: Part A (Potassium Cyanoferrate) and Part B (Ferric Ammonium Citrate) add water and mix! These solutions create a light-sensitive coating that reacts with UV exposure to develop bold blue images. Applying the solution is simple using the included 2" hake brush. Coat surfaces like cotton, linen, silk, canvas, wood, or the premium Hahnemühle Platinum Rag Fine Art Paper provided in the kit. Once dry, arrange objects, stencils, or negatives on the coated surface. The kit includes three sheets of SolarFast Film for making digital negatives, plus a film marker for hand-drawn designs. Secure everything in the 9" x 12" glass printing frame with the included clips and backerboard, then expose it to sunlight or UV light for 10–20 minutes. Light-exposed areas turn deep blue, blocked areas stay white, and partially exposed areas create a full range of tones in between. This continuous tone effect makes cyanotype prints so magical, effortlessly capturing every subtle shadow and detail. After exposure, rinse thoroughly with cold water to reveal crisp, high-contrast images. The set comes with enough chemistry to make 16oz of sensitizing solution, enough to make approximately sixty-five 8”x10” prints on paper or 50 on fabric. Whether making sun prints from objects, leaves, or intricate photographic designs, this kit offers a user-friendly way to explore one of the oldest photographic printing processes.
