This Refrigerator Compressor Start Device and Capacitor attaches to the compressor and helps the compressor turn on and off while maintaining a constant temperature to keep things frozen in your freezer. The start relay boosts the compressor, and then shuts off as soon as the motor gets up to speed. The overload provides extra protection against excessive temperatures. This part is designed to be used with select refrigerator brands including Whirlpool®, Kenmore®, Maytag®, JennAir® and KitchenAid®; check to see if your model number is compatible. You will need advanced mechanical training to make this repair. Specialized tools, complex testing and appliance calibration are required including but not limited to recovering and recharging the coolant in the sealed refrigeration system.
