The Kenko PRO1D R-Twinkle Star (W) makes a cross effect that looks like a shining star to accentuate the strong point light sources found in night scenes and illuminations in photographs. Unlike general cross filters, which have long, stretched cross lines, Kenko's Twinkle Star series has short lines due to Kenko's unique manufacturing process.
The cross effect is just the right length to create a twinkling effect.
The front frame of the filter rotates, so the direction of the cross can be freely adjusted to suit the situation.
It can also be used as a soft filter for daytime photography when there is no strong point light source, and for flower and landscape photography. The further the lens is tilted toward the telephoto side, the stronger the softening effect becomes. Patterns on the surface of the filter glass may appear in the bokeh areas, but this can be used as a unique expression.
