Conceria La Bretagna, Invecchiato, Vachetta Leather, Double Shoulder
The 'Invecchiato' tannage developed in 1967 is described as "sweet shades, delicate contrasts of color, and eternal beauty." As perhaps the most famous of all La Bretagna leathers, the Invecchiato tannage represents the soul, pride and history of the tannery. The leather is tumbled (milled), which provides a slight pebbled grain texture. The leather is then hand stained on a natural base. The tumbling helps the hand staining process because it allows for better stain absorption which therefore presents a double-tone 'marbled' coloring effect offering unique character to every piece. Finally the leather is ironed, which creates a glossy finish and smooths out the leather grain while keeping a light pebbling.
