Installation Notes:
Note: To assure proper sealing, the OD of the crank shaft and wear sleeve MUST BE cleaned and dry prior to installing front crank seal.
A-Adapter // B-Installer // C-Seal // D-Guide Sleeve
1. Place adapter(A) on nose of crankshaft and tighten cap screws. (Do not allow oil to contact coating on OD of seal.)
2. Apply a light coating of clean engine oil to lips of seal and position seal(C) on crankshaft flange. (The spring-loaded side of seal goes into timing gear cover first.)
3. Slide spacer onto adapter.
4. Place installer(B) over adapter. (Note: Guide sleeve is equipped with a notch to clear the cast indicator mark on some early timing gear covers.)
5. Place guide sleeve(D) over installer and seal.
6. Tighten nut until seal is installed flush with face of timing gear cover.
