The Avec divides the year into two six-month books: Book 1 (Jan–Jun) in bright lime yellow, and Book 2 (Jul–Dec) in cool ice blue. This version was created for customers who found year-long books too bulky from pasted materials.

The Tomoe River paper designed for planners is known for its thinness and smooth writing surface. However, depending on the type and amount of ink or pen used—as well as environmental conditions—some ink may bleed through or take longer to dry.
