The horsepower race started in Fifties' America, but arguably the car that really got the classic musclecar era into gear was the 1964 Pontiac GTO. The GTO combined Pontiac's muscular 389-cubic-inch V-8 with its lightest car, the redesigned intermediate-sized '64 Tempest LeMans.

This easy-to-build 1/24-scale Revell 2'n1 kit features some of the car's best remembered factory-stock features including the triple two-barrel “Tri-Power” carburetors, a four-speed manual transmission, and dual exhaust. Instructions are included so skilled builders can modify the two-door “post” coupe body into a hardtop style. Optional street-machine parts include a second hood that has been cut out to clear the chrome-plated blower with dual four-barrels and velocity stacks. Other hot-rod goodies include a raised rear suspension and Eighties-style custom wheels.
