Description

Bring vivid color and natural beauty to your aquarium with our Fire Red Cherry Shrimp—a premium, high-grade variation of Neocaridina shrimp. These freshwater shrimp are a favorite among aquarists for their striking red hue, hardy nature, and ease of care, making them ideal for both beginners and seasoned hobbyists. Not only are they visually stunning, but they also play an essential role in maintaining a healthy tank by constantly grazing on algae and biofilm across plants, glass, and substrate. Each shrimp is bred from top-tier genetic lines, tracing back to award-winning breeders in Taiwan. We provide a healthy ratio of males to females to help you establish a thriving, self-sustaining colony. To maintain the purity of their vibrant coloration, it's recommended to keep different color variants of Neocaridina shrimp in separate tanks, as interbreeding can lead to duller offspring. Fire Red Cherry Shrimp thrive in well-maintained planted tanks. They prefer temperatures between 65–80°F, a pH range of 6.5–8.0, TDS between 170–250 ppm, and general hardness (GH) between 5.5–8. Clean, dechlorinated tap water or RO water is essential, and care should be taken to avoid water with heavy metals or harsh chemicals. Always use shrimp-safe fertilizers and foods when dosing your tank. Feeding is simple—these shrimp do well with dry shrimp foods, metal-free fish flakes, and blanched vegetables like spinach. Be sure to boil and cool vegetables before placing them in the tank to ensure safety. They love tanks rich in plant life, especially with mosses like java moss and Taiwan moss, as well as floating plants such as dwarf water lettuce, Salvinia minima, and Frogbit, which provide excellent surfaces for baby shrimp to graze. Whether you're new to shrimp keeping or looking to expand your collection, our Fire Red Cherry Shrimp are a vibrant, functional, and low-maintenance addition to any freshwater aquarium.
