Description
JV44, an elite Air Force squadron was founded in February 1945 at the end of World War II. This was a group of carefully selected pilots whose mission was to provide air assistance during take-off and landing at the Messerschmitt Me262. It is an air defense unit equipped with the Focke-Wulf Fw190D-9. During the short period against the end of the war, the D-9 had excellent speed and climbing capability that could be equivalent to the powerful enemy P-51 Mustang and the strong defense of pilots dedicated to air assistance. Despite this period, JV44 enjoyed many military successes.
