Two handcut and hardened grey goose quills cut by an expert in historic writing and calligraphy who works exclusively with quills. Before cutting each quill is hardened in hot sand to temper the feather shaft and reduce brittleness. The quills are then cut for writing. Each quill is 10-14 inches.
