Impossible Frog Tongue for Spectra/Image/1200 CamerasImpossible manufactures many different products that support our customers' efforts to get the most out of instant analog photography and their vintage Polaroid camera. Please view the video above for essential tips on this accessory.
This newly designed accessory easily attaches to all Spectra/Image/1200 cameras and automatically shields Impossible instant pictures from light as they eject from the camera. This nifty device greatly improves the results you can achieve with the current Impossible instant films.
How to Use your Frog TongueThe Spectra Frog Tongue was developed from the existing sheet of plastic already inside of every Spectra/Image/1200 camera. Unlike the existing tongue, which snaps back into the camera immediately, the Frog Tongue is physically long enough to cover the image completely and stay in place until the image is removed. Installation is extremely simple using the included instruction sheet, or view the video above! Simply remove the nameplate on your camera and replace the old tongue with this new, longer one. A dab of glue and you're finished!
Once permanently installed, it allows stress-free shielding of all Impossible films. You can choose to leave the image under the Frog Tongue for the full 3-5 minutes, or transfer it quickly after those critical first 30 seconds to a light-free area like a pocket or bag.
Why do I need a Frog Tongue? An excellent question! All Impossible films MUST be shielded from light during the first 3-5 minutes of development, and most critically in the first 30 seconds. This means no shaking please, but straight into your pocket, box or bag, upside-down on a flat surface, or any other light-free place.
This is required because the chemical layer that Polaroid used to shield the film cannot be exactly reproduced - the components are simply no longer available. Impossible's team is working day and night to find a new solution, but for now, images must be protected from light.
