1. The Askar 80ED's lens hood is retractable—it can be reversed and screwed in to reduce overall size when not in use, or extended to the front of the lens to minimize stray light. The lens features a name ring and product serial number for enhanced identification.
2.The inner tube is designed with dual baffles to maximize stray light suppression, delivering stronger image contrast and clearer celestial details during astrophotography. The tube ring is lightweight yet sturdy, equipped with thumb screws for easy use. The 200mm standard Vixen-style dovetail plate is compatible with most equatorial mounts. The top handle has a slotted design, allowing additional astronomical equipment to be mounted via screws.
3. The Askar 80ED's dual-speed rack-and-pinion 2-inch focuser enables coarse and fine focusing. The travel length is 7cm. The focuser base includes an enlarged locking screw, which can be easily locked even under high loads. Additional screw holes are available for installing the electronic focuser.
4. The 80ED features dual finder bases at both sides of the lens tube, eliminating the need for disassembly when repositioning the finder scope and providing extra mounting options for other accessories. The rear of the 80ED is equipped with a 2-inch adapter with an internal copper-plated lining to prevent damage to connected devices. The outer packaging consists of a foam-lined cardboard box to protect the telescope from impacts.
5.Three optional imaging accessories (sold separately)—all optimized for APS-C frame photography while supporting full-frame imaging: 0.85x reducer, 0.7x reducer, and 1x flattener, each featuring a built-in 360° rotator.
