Installation Steps
1. Preparation
Turn off the engine and ensure a safe working environment.
For easier installation, you may choose to remove the P7100 pump from the engine.
2. Remove the Tamper-Proof Bolt
Most P7100 pumps have a tamper-proof bolt on top of the timing pin housing. Use the appropriate tool to remove this bolt, allowing for easier throttle arm installation.
3. Install the Throttle Arm Assembly
Attach the throttle arm assembly to the P7100 pump using the provided screws and washers.
Make sure the return spring is positioned correctly, so the throttle arm automatically returns when released.
4. Adjust the Throttle Cable Length
Measure the desired length for the throttle cable and trim it if needed.
Connect one end of the throttle cable to the throttle arm and the other end to the throttle pedal, ensuring there is no slack in the cable.
5. Check Fuel Shutoff Solenoid Clearance
After installation, verify that the throttle arm clears the fuel shutoff solenoid.
For 4BT engines, if the stock lift pump interferes with the throttle arm, remote-mount the lift pump or contact a professional for throttle arm modifications.
