We recommend natural fabrics such as cotton, cotton blends, wool, linen and silk as the best options for fabric painting. Natural fabrics absorb the paint much better than synthetic fabrics, for richer, long-lasting results. 100% cotton is the preferred substrate. Thrift Flip Textile has been tested on 60/40 cotton/poly blends with great success. Most fabrics will work just fine, but extra care may be needed when washing those man-made fabrics. Thrift Flip Textile is very flexible, however, the stretchier the substrate is, the more likely that the film may eventually crack.
