Self-Developed Special Diaphragm, ED Series Balanced Armature. The Volume S features a self-developed full-range driver. The use of a full-range driver has always been Softears' tuning approach. By using a single driver or a group of drivers as full-range units, it helps to harmonize the tonal balance, making the headphone's sound more cohesive without any sense of disjointedness or detachment. lt's like mixing red and blue aint to create a beautiful purple.

The Volume S features a panel crafted from two different materials: the base frame is made from aluminum alloy, precision 5 axis CNC-machined with a sandblasted anodized finish that gives it a smooth, matte texture. The center is inlaid with a forged carbon fiber. Each piece of carbon fiber undergoes multiple manufacturing processes, from laying, stamping, and temperature control to forging and final CNC processing. The texture of each piece is unique. Depending on the angle, the light reflects differently, creating a bright, shimmering effect, showcasing a distinct and exclusive design.
