This set includes a Metric Class 10.9 (equivalent to grade 8) hardened yellow zinc - plated flange bolt and a flag nut retainer. It's used to attach the front track bar to the axle and is compatible with various Jeep models: all 1997 - 2006 Wrangler TJ's and LJ's, 1984 - 2001 Cherokee XJ's, 1986 - 1992 Comanche MJ's, and 1993 - 1998 Grand Cherokee ZJ's. The flag nut replaces Mopar part numbers 6504449, 52087888, 34202463, and 11501850. The bolt replaces Mopar part numbers 6505549AA, 34202640, 34201927, and 34201492. The flag nut, yellow zinc - plated for corrosion resistance, is twice as thick as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) nut, ensuring it won't break easily. Unlike factory nuts, the prevailing torque flange lock nut is welded to the bracket, not just press - fit. Notes: 1. The nut on the flag nut is a prevailing torque lock nut (top lock). It's a mechanical locking nut for vehicle suspensions, preventing loosening from vibrations. You can't thread the bolt through it by hand; you'll need a wrench or socket for installation. 2. The bolt head is a standard 15mm, so any good - quality 15mm wrench or socket will work perfectly. 3. The proper dry torque is 50 ft/lbs. If you use anti - seize, threadlocker, or any lubricant, reduce the torque by 20%. A broken bolt was due to a user over - torquing (nearly double the spec), not a part defect. While 10.9 Class hardware is very strong, follow the torque specs as nothing is indestructible.
