Micro-hardness is a kind of indentation hardness that reflects the ability of an object to be pressed against another hard object.
Micro-hardness tester is actually a microscope with an eyepiece micrometer without a load device.
Before measurement, the abrasive to be tested is first made into a reflective grinding plate sample,
placed on the stage of microhardness tester, and quadrangular pyramid diamond indenter is pressurized by a load device.
The size of the load can be increased or decreased depending on the hardness of the material to be tested.
After the diamond indenter is pressed into the sample, a pit will be formed on the surface of the sample.
Align the microscope crosshairs with the pits and measure the length of diagonals of the pits with an eyepiece micrometer.
The micro-hardness value of the measured substance can be calculated according to the applied load and diagonal length of the pit.
