Characteristics and Applications: 1. Photoinitiator 559 (2959) is a usable photoinitiator with low odor, low volatility, and low yellowing. It can be used in adhesives that do not come into direct contact with food, and has active hydroxyl ethoxy terminal hydroxyl groups that can participate in reactions. 2. Can be used in water-based light curing systems, with a high melting point, and can also be used in UV cured powder coatings. During the initiation process, it is mainly used as a UV coating, ink, and adhesive sensitizer, which is better than photoinitiator 518 (ITX)+photoinitiator 526 (EDAB) and photoinitiator 532 (BDK). It is insensitive to oxygen blocking polymerization and has relatively low volatility. The surface curing effect is excellent, but its spectral absorption band is mainly in the short band, which is not very good for deep curing of UV pigment systems. It is suitable for use in combination with photoinitiator 569 (369). 3. In fact, it is an efficient non yellowing UV initiator used to initiate UV polymerization reactions in unsaturated prepolymers, especially suitable for acrylic and unsaturated polyester resins that require low odor and water solubility. The active hydroxyl group in the photo initiator 559 (2959) molecule can easily react with unsaturated resin. Suitable for conventional UV systems, the hydroxyl functional groups in its molecules enhance the solubility of photoinitiator 559 (2959) in water-based coating formulations, making it suitable for water-based UV formulations.
