Blue-Bot is a simple coding robot that can operate on its own or via Blue-tooth controlled by an Android, iOS, Mac, or Windows device or a tactile reader. It can now interact with other Blue-Bots too! Audio record and playback functionality are added in the newer version. Teachers can use Blue-Bot to help teach Pre-K through second-grade students logic and sequential thinking.
Students press the command keys to send Blue-Bot forward and back, left and right and learn counting, sequencing, directionality, problem-solving, and estimation just like with Bee-Bots. Students are anxious to put Blue-Bot through its paces and develop important thinking skills while they are having fun.
Like Bee-Bot, Blue-Bot is sturdily constructed and holds up well to classroom use. Blue-Bot blinks and beeps engagingly to provide feedback as it follows a program. With its clear shell, Blue-Bot is literally transparent so that its components can be seen, helping to demystify technology. A rechargeable battery, with accompanying charger cable, provides years of use.
Take Blue-Bot to the next level by using the Blue-Bot app to create a program on-screen, sending it to Blue-Bot, and revising as desired provides an additional conceptual level of understanding that further develops algorithmic thinking skills.
The Blue-Bot app adds additional capabilities not available on Blue-Bot itself. These include 45° turns and repeating command sequences expanding learning opportunities provided by Blue-Bot. There is no charge for the Blue-Bot app which is available for iPads from the Apple Store and Android tablets from the Google Store (search for Blue-Bot) and for Windows and Mac software in the Terrapin Downloads section.
Blue-Bot brings science, technology, engineering, and math into the classroom for even the youngest students and helps build foundational skills for lifelong learning.
