Function: The aim of the radiator caps is to seal the radiator filler neck, keep the coolant inside the radiator. It also works as a two-way valve to hold the proper pressure inside to make the radiator work properly. If the pressure isn't maintained, the coolant can boil and evaporate, putting the engine at risk of overheating.
Installation: It's time to replace a radiator cap if you radiator cap has following symptoms: air enters the systems, low coolant level, coolant leaks, overflowing reservoir, overheating engine. Please make sure the engine to cool down before removing the old radiator cap to prevent burns.It will be much easier for radiator cap to installed and removed because the shell of the cap rotates independently from the upper sealing gasket, stem and bottom plate.
