Reproduction Imperial German pickelhaube covers.
Helmet covers or Überzug were first introduced in 1892 when the brass and silver fittings on the pickelhauben were deemed to be too reflective for use in the field.
These covers are an olive green colour and have a spike top which has four straps securing it to the helmet and allows for ventilation. The covers are secured to the helmet using four hooks.
These covers are designed for use with smaller Pickelhaubes, and are not suitable for the larger lobster-tail Cuirassier helmets.
