The VOTEX drain plug will operate in temperatures up to 150°C or 302°F. A quality motor oil will tolerate oil temperatures up to 250 degrees but starts breaking down once it reaches 275 degrees. The operating temperature for engine oil is between 194 and 230°F, so our magnet will work in temperatures far past that of engine oil.
