Safety Preparation: Turn off the vehicle and allow it to cool for at least 2 hours to prevent burns—exhaust components can exceed 600°F. Always wear protective gloves.
Step 1 - Measurement:
Measure exhaust droop before removal. Ensure the bottom of the muffler sits at least 6.5 inches above the ground.
Step 2 - Remove Old Bracket:
- Use a 10mm socket to remove the upper frame bolts.
- Press down the rubber hanger snap with flat pliers.
- Slide the bracket rearward gently—do not pry.
- Note: For 2022+ models, use special tool DT-12A for rubber hanger removal.
Step 3 - Install New Bracket:
- Confirm the 'L' casting mark (left side).
- Align the bracket hole with the threaded frame pipe.
- Hand-tighten the M10 bolt.
- Insert the muffler hanger into the slot—listen for a "click" to confirm it's seated.
Step 4 - Final Fastening:
- Torque the upper frame bolts to 28 Nm (20 lb-ft).
- Do not use impact wrenches to avoid damaging aluminum threads.
