Made for high-intensity activities in alpine environments, the ORTOVOX Fleece Grid Jacket performs well in wet and dry conditions. Whereas down is susceptible to rain and snow, this jacket's micro-grid fleece insulates when it's wet or dry, trapping warm air against our body while also wicking moisture and drying quickly—a big plus when we sweat in cold conditions. We like the merino wool layer next to our skin and make use of the zippered chest pockets for both storage and ventilation on calorie-burning ascents. This layering piece works for a range of outdoor pursuits, but it's best suited for ski touring and mountaineering.
