Why replace?
1. Leakage Prevention:
Over time, drain plugs can become loose or damaged due to wear, corrosion, or aging, resulting in transmission oil leaks. Not only is this a waste of transmission oil, but it can also negatively impact the normal operation of the transmission.
2. Make sure the oil drain is smooth:
When changing the transmission oil, smooth opening and closing of the drain plug is critical to ensure that the old oil can be completely drained and the new oil can be added smoothly. If the drain plug is clogged or difficult to open, it may affect the efficiency of draining and even cause old oil to accumulate inside the transmission, affecting the performance of the transmission.
3. Prevent impurities from entering:
A good drain plug can effectively prevent external dust, moisture and other impurities from entering the inside of the transmission. These impurities can lead to increased wear and tear on the internal parts of the transmission, or even cause failure.
4. Maintain transmission health:
Regular replacement of the drain plug is an important part of transmission maintenance. By replacing the drain plug, impurities and deposits inside the transmission oil pan can be inspected and cleaned up, thus keeping the transmission clean and healthy.
5. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations:
Many car manufacturers explicitly recommend in their vehicle maintenance manuals that the drain plug be replaced regularly. Following these recommendations can ensure the proper functioning of the transmission and extend its lifespan.
