Being that duck hunting is one of the most prevalent sports in the country we thought it would be essential to recognize the sport with a commemorative shirt, which includes history within the design. In 1934, the United States government passed the Migratory Bird Hunting Stamp Act, better known as the Federal Duck Stamp Act. This program required hunters to purchase a special stamp, in addition to a regular hunting license, to hunt migratory waterfowl. Revenues from the program provided the majority of funding for conservation for many decades and funded the purchase of the National Wildlife Refuge for waterfowl habitats. The Duck Stamp Act has been described as "one of the most successful conservation programs ever devised" and has ensured the safety of waterfowl populations for generations to come. Duck Stamps have also become collectible items in their own right, amongst collectors who appreciate the history and culture the stamps capture.
