The NE556N Dual Monolithic timing circuits are highlystable controllers capable of producing accurate time delays oroscillation. The 556 are a dual 555. Timing is provided byan external resistor and capacitor for each timing function.
The twotimers operate independently of each other, sharing only VCC andground. The circuits may be triggered and reset on fallingwaveforms.
