If you are after giant heavy low end growl, look elsewhere. If you are after a sweet, Motown-esque feel, stop right here. This is a vintage output, the spring inside the foam to give the pickup a very secure mounting setup. There are other more expensive pickups that you might prefer, but you might also find that you prefer this one over ones that are more expensive if you prefer a vintage sound. It provides slammin output while retaining singing highs, aggressive harmonics, and just the right blend of sustain and distortion. Goes from sweet warm tones to raw rock 'n' roll.If you have a bass and the pups aren't doing it for you, try these, you might be pleasantly surprised.
Features:
- Triple wax dipped and vacuum sealed to eliminate any unwanted feedback and noise.
- Bass frequencies keep their deep growl while the treble sounds are smoother but still defined.
- Large quarter-inch wide pole pieces expand the magnetic field and extend the frequency range from low to high end for a fat, full, punchy sound with midrange presence.
- Position: Bridge, Neck
- Resistance: 8-9K.
- Cable Length:334mm/13.14inch
How to install?
Installation was a cinch as the P bass has its 2 pups wired in series, these pups came already wired and soldered to the pots and jack exactly. You only need to make sure that pick guard is tight on these, and require some modification though you could open the pups hole up just a little bit, if you don't want to butcher your pick guard, you can use a fine file and just gently take off a few thousands off each side of the hole. If you want to raise these pups after install, you might have to pull them up with your fingers after loosening the screws, as they're tight enough, they won't float back up on their own without a little tug.
