Introducing the Moisture Buster
The Moisture Buster is the smart choice among 3D print enthusiasts because it super-charges your filament drying effectiveness - it will dry your filament and keep it dry!. Even slightly wet filament can become brittle, bubbly, or stringy. In severe cases, it may even steam and hiss, resulting in poor print quality and failed prints.
While other forms of filament drying storage like silica gel can work for a while, it loses effectiveness after only a few uses. It's inconsistent and constantly needs replacing. We were tired of taking damp filament and having it break off in our hands, clog a nozzle or ruin a print, only to have to unload it then wait for it to re-dry.
In our shop we were only too aware of this problem and yet felt, like many 3D printing enthusiasts, it just wasn't enough of an issue to worry about. But our lead engineer disagreed and showed us where we were wasting time, filament (and money) putting up with these seemingly random issues.
Through methodical testing we eventually succeeded in scientifically proving that we needed to be much more diligent in how we store our filament and use desiccant more effectively. Okay... we had to admit he had a point.
The Original Moisture Buster evolved from this need for efficient and effective 3D filament drying and storage, and it has been a game changer for us. The most pleasant discovery is that it actually DRIES the filament inside of our vacuum bags and storage containers. And then KEEPS it dry! We now experience much higher quality prints, less filament waste, less time wasted, and MUCH less frustration.
In addition, it turned out to recharge so much faster - 3 minutes in the microwave – compared to a competitor with over two hours in a conventional oven.
It was clear we had found the “holy grail” solution that was as easy to use and as close to “fit and forget” as possible.
