These Kimble Chase KIMAX heavy-walled filter flasks have a detachable autoclavable plastic sidearm designed to accept 5/16 inch ID flexible tubing. The sidearm has two ears to provide a finger grip for easy insertion into a neoprene bushing by turning the plastic piece. The opening in the sidearm is larger at the flask end to hold a cotton plug securely. All flasks have durable white ceramic enamel scales to indicate approximate volumes at various levels. They are designed from ASTM Specification E1406, Type III, Class II requirements. These flasks meet requirements for the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) E438, Type I, Class A, Standard Specification for Glass in Laboratory Apparatus and the glass conforms to USP Type I requirements. They are made from 33 expansion borosilicate glass, which has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and very high resistance to chemical attack.
