Standing over 3 1/2 feet tall, the Rocketarium Black Brant IVB-30 is a large flying model rocket capable of altitudes in excess of 1600 feet (480 meters) on an F motor before returning back to Earth so it can be flown over and over again. Unlike most model rockets, the Black Brant IVB-30 contains an ejection baffle system which means that no recovery wadding is required for flight. Original Black Brant IVB-30 launched at 0030 local time June 21 1973, at Kauai Hawaii, during the quiet solar and geomagnetic conditions carrying experiments for the detection of galactic and cosmic soft X-rays. This kit is a single-stage model of Black Brant IVB-30.
