The point of the lid switch is for the tub to stop spinning when the washer lid is opened. It is a safety precaution just in case someone decides to stick their hand inside the washer while the tub is spinning.
Lid must be closed for washer to fill, wash, drain, or spin. If the machine is not advancing into the cycle or is displaying a lid lock fault this may be the cause of the issue.
[Repair Instructions]:
◆Unplug washer so you don't get electrified is the first step, Then turn of water supply and remove the hoses.
◆Now remove the back panel, should be three screws. Also remove the other to screws to raise the top.
◆And there should be one other screw that holds a plate on remove as well. Don't worry about mixing up the screws they should all be the same size.
◆Now raise the top and remove the 2 screws that hold the lid latch. Follow the wire to the back of washer and unplug the lid latch.
◆To install new lid latch assembly reverse instructions and replace all screws from where they where removed.
