The Grove - Thumb Joystick is a Grove-compatible input module designed to feel just like the analog joystick on a PS5 (PlayStation 5) controller. The X and Y axes each feature a ~10k potentiometer, enabling precise 2D movement control by generating smooth analog signals. Output values are intentionally restricted to a smaller range (200–800) for more controlled readings, and when the joystick is pressed down, the X value jumps to 1023, allowing your microcontroller to detect the press event. A dedicated push button adds an extra layer of functionality for special applications. The module supports both 5V and 3.3V operating voltages, making it compatible with a wide range of development platforms. Thanks to its Grove unified socket, setup is straightforward — simply plug it in and start building.
