The MCP3008 belongs to the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) of integrated circuits (IC). For example, the sound collected by the microphone or the output of the sensor is then converted into a digital signal.
Generally speaking, digital output is a binary complement binary number, which is proportional to the input. The input type may be differential, pseudo-differential or single-ended input. Analog-to-digital converters can be selected based on bit number, sampling rate, input number, interface, converter number and architecture (such as adaptive increment, double slope, folding, pipeline, SAR, trigonometric integration, two-step).
