Engine Rebuild Overhaul Kit Installation Guide
Note:
Professional installation is highly recommended.
1. Preparation
Disconnect the battery, drain engine oil and coolant, and clean the engine block thoroughly.
2. Crankshaft Installation
Lubricate all bearings, place the crankshaft properly, and torque main bearing caps to the manufacturer's specifications.
3. Connecting Rod & Piston Installation
Install piston rings, lubricate cylinders, and carefully insert the piston and connecting rod assemblies using a ring compressor.
4. Cylinder Head Installation
Clean all mating surfaces, install a new head gasket, and tighten the cylinder head bolts in the correct sequence and torque stages.
5. Timing & Accessories Installation
Align timing marks accurately, install the timing chain or belt, and reassemble all related accessories.
6. Final Assembly
Reinstall manifolds and sensors, fill the engine with new oil and coolant, start the engine, and check for leaks or abnormal noise.
7. Break-in Procedure
Run the engine at idle for 20–30 minutes, avoid high RPM or heavy loads for the first 500 miles, and replace the oil and filter after break-in.
