The fan switch features 3/8" NPT threads on a , hermetically- body. fan switch threads into your or cylinder head and a relay -not included, sold seperately- when the bulb is immersed in that is 185° F or 195° F, depending on which fan switch you use. As the engine cools, the contacts on the fan relay switch open, and the fan stops automatically.
Make sure the fan switch bulb is submerged in the HOT engine .

Installation Tips
Thread sealants such as # or a type high temp thread sealant are recommended for use with these sensors. Apply thread sealant to the threads in a very minimal quantity so as to not coat all of the threads as the unit must still maintain the ground through the threads. tape sometimes interfere with the proper ground through the threads as required.
