One Alternator. Two Tough Worlds. Reliable 65A Power for Your Mercruiser Boat or JLG Boom Lift.
Different job sites. Same problem. On the water, your Mercruiser's voltmeter dips below 12V while running. Navigation lights dim. The battery dies after a day out. On the construction site, your JLG boom lift throws intermittent ECU faults, the hydraulic controls become unresponsive, or the battery drains mid-operation. Both scenarios share a common culprit: a failing alternator that wasn't built for the environment it works in.
Built for Saltwater and Jobsite Dust — Not Your Average Auto Parts Store Alternator
Most alternators are designed for the clean, dry, vibration-free world under a car hood. That's not where you work. Our dual-environment alternator is engineered as a direct-fit replacement for 2000–2023 Mercruiser gas marine engines and JLG aerial work platforms. It delivers a dependable 65 amps at 12V — enough for engine management, navigation electronics, or hydraulic control systems. But the real difference is how it's built to survive.
Why Marine & Industrial Grade Construction Matters
Fully Sealed Housing — Salt spray on the water and fine dust on the job site can't get in. This sealed design protects internal components from the two biggest killers of alternators: corrosion and contamination.
Stainless Steel Hardware Throughout — Every bolt, nut, and terminal is marine-grade stainless steel. No rust. No seized fasteners. No corroded electrical connections — even after seasons in a saltwater bilge.
Epoxy-Coated Copper Windings — Internal windings are sealed with a protective epoxy layer that prevents moisture-induced shorts and insulation breakdown caused by constant vibration.
Heavy-Duty Bearings — Whether it's pounding through chop at 4,000 RPM or absorbing the jarring jolts of a boom lift traversing rough terrain, these reinforced bearings are built to take the abuse and keep spinning quietly.

Installation Guidance — Do It Right, Regardless of Application
Safety first: Always disconnect the battery negative terminal before starting any work.
For marine engines: Apply marine-grade anti-seize compound to mounting bolt threads. This is critical — without it, galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals can permanently seize bolts within a single season.
For JLG lifts: Check mounting bracket alignment carefully. Some models may require spacer shims for proper pulley alignment — verify before final torquing.
Inspect the 6-rib serpentine belt. If it shows signs of glazing, cracking, or uneven wear, replace it now. Proper tension is essential.
Connect the main output (B+) terminal using 8 AWG or thicker wire. For marine applications, use only marine-rated tinned copper wire to resist corrosion.
Ground is everything: A poor engine or frame ground connection is the single most common cause of low charging output. Clean contact surfaces until bare metal is visible and tighten securely.
Reconnect battery, start the engine, and measure voltage at the battery terminals. You should see 13.5–14.5V at idle. Anything outside this range indicates a wiring or connection issue — not the alternator.
Common Mistakes That Kill Alternators Fast
Installing a standard automotive alternator in a marine or industrial application — the unsealed housing will fail, often within weeks.
Using undersized output wiring — this causes dangerous voltage drop and excessive heat buildup at the terminals.
Skipping anti-seize compound on marine engine mounting bolts — galvanic corrosion doesn't warn you; it just seizes the bolt permanently.
Belt misalignment or using a belt with the wrong rib count — must be 6-groove serpentine. A 5-rib or 7-rib belt will slip, wear rapidly, or damage the pulley.
