The Schnitzel DU is a fixed blade whittling and outdoor knife designed for kids and youth who are ready to move beyond basic starter tools. It is ideal for supervised whittling, simple wood carving projects, bushcraft basics, camping, and outdoor learning activities.

Unlike rounded tip beginner knives, the Schnitzel DU features a real drop point blade with a traditional Scandinavian scandi grind. This blade geometry allows controlled and precise cuts while requiring less force, helping reduce slipping during whittling and wood shaping.

The blade is made from high quality stainless Sandvik 14C28N steel with a durable anti corrosion finish for reliable outdoor performance and long edge retention. A textured spine with jimping improves thumb control, and a sharp edged section on the spine allows effective use with the included ferro rod.

Full tang construction combined with contoured G 10 handle scales provides strength, balance, and a secure grip, even in wet or cold conditions. The size and ergonomics are specifically suited for youth hands while maintaining the feel of a real outdoor tool.

Each knife comes with a rugged Kydex sheath for safe storage and transport. The sheath includes a dedicated ferro rod holder and a ferro rod secured with an elastic retention band. It protects the blade from dirt, moisture, and impact during outdoor use.

Recommended for ages 12 and up with adult supervision. This is a sharp tool and not a toy. Proper instruction and supervision are required when used by children.
