●Quartz filter cartridge and glass fiber filter cartridge are hydrophilic. Avoid contact with water and long-term exposure to high humidity. They must be stored in a dryer, and the relative humidity should be controlled below 50%
●When handling filter cartridges, researchers should wear disposable plastic gloves and use plastic scissors. Before handling each filter cartridge, the scissors must be thoroughly cleaned with filter paper. Avoid direct contact with quartz or glass fiber filter cartridge by hand, which will not only pollute the quartz membrane! Microfiber peeling off and adhering to the hand will cause cancer itching or discomfort of the hand
●If the volatile particulate matter is collected with a filter cartridge, it is not suitable to dry it directly in an oven. It is recommended to put it into a dryer for drying and then weigh it
●The material of the filter cartridge and the hygroscopic property of the glass fiber itself. The humidity of the dried filter cartridge is lower than the humidity in the balance room, and the hygroscopic phenomenon is serious. The data shows that the weighing value of the filter cartridge increases by an average of 23 mg for each 10% increase in air humidity. It is recommended to establish a constant temperature and humidity laboratory if conditions permit. If conditions are not available, the filter cartridges should be weighed before and after sampling when the ambient humidity is about 40%. The humidity difference between the filter cartridges before and after sampling should be<5%
●The cooling time is related to the number of filter cartridges placed in the dryer and the method of placement. When the filter cartridges in the dryer are full (or 2P3), the filter cartridges cannot be cooled to room temperature within 30 minutes. Only by placing a layer of filter cartridges in the dryer can the temperature in the dryer be cooled to room temperature within 30 minutes. Or 1 h of cooling time is not enough, which often leads to low results. The cooling time should be at least 2 hours
●When the flue gas humidity is high during the monitoring process, the wet weight of the filter cartridge after sampling increases greatly. For example, the wet filter cartridge can be dried at 105~110oC for 4 hours continuously to meet the balance quality requirements. At the same time, the standard blank filter cartridge can be used to control the weighing accuracy
●The filter cartridge will lose weight during the high-temperature sampling process of smoke and dust. In most cases, the flue gas temperature of boiler and kiln is higher than 110oC in the actual sampling process, so the filter cartridge is generally dried at 200oC. When the filter cartridge is used at a high temperature above 400oC, it should be baked in a 400oC high temperature oven for 1h in advance, and then put into a dryer to cool to room temperature, which can solve the problem of filter cartridge weight loss caused by the flue gas temperature higher than the drying temperature
