  • Glycol Distearate is ideal for: shampoos & 2-in-1s, body wash/shower gel, bubble bath, hand soap, facial cleansers, micellar/cleansing gels, liquid syndet washes, and conditioning cleansers—any rinse-off formula needing pearl, opacity, and richer texture.
  • Typical use level: 0.5–5.0% (common 1–3%). Add Glycol Distearate to the heated surfactant phase and melt fully (often 65–75°C) with mixing until uniform. Cool with gentle agitation to develop pearlescence; adjust final viscosity with salt/polymer as needed. Avoid overheating/over-shearing at cool down.
  • Glycol Distearate works best in anionic/amphoteric/nonionic surfactant blends (e.g., SLES, SCI liquids, CAPB, glucosides). Compatible with glycerin, panthenol, proteins, silicones, oils (with solubilizer), fragrances, and common preservatives. Pearling can shift with electrolytes, high solvent loads, or extreme pH—optimize in your base.
  • Use for Pearl Shampoo, Pearl Body Wash, Moisturizing Hand Soap, Creamy Facial Cleanser,Bubble Bath, Creams and Lotions. For best results: fully melt, then cool gently; start at 2% and tune opacity/shine. Pair with CAPB + a viscosity builder for stable, elegant “pearl” rinses.
