We understand this improved version is more expensive — it's not for everyone. But if you need extra protection during transit or long-term storage, it could be the right choice. Here's why:
Why This Improved Version Holds Air Longer?
Traditional HDPE films slowly deflate over time because air molecules like oxygen and nitrogen can pass through microscopic gaps in the plastic. Our improved film combines HDPE with PA (polyamide, or nylon), forming a much tighter molecular structure. In fact, the spacing between PA polymer chains is smaller than the size of oxygen and nitrogen molecules, which means air cannot physically escape through the material. This advanced barrier keeps your air pillows inflated for over a year, compared to just a few weeks with standard HDPE films.
Why It Resists Air Loss and “Bursting” During Transit?
What often looks like a “burst” in traditional air pillows is actually gradual air loss caused by repeated bouncing and shifting during shipping. As packages move, the pressure repeatedly pushes air through microscopic gaps in standard HDPE film — leading to flattened cushions. The nylon-enriched HDPE+PA film solves this by blocking gas escape at the molecular level, making it highly resistant to this bounce-induced deflation. Combined with its 30μm thickness (vs. 18–20μm for HDPE), this film resists both real punctures and the air depletion that mimics bursting.
Ideal for protecting jars, electronics, artwork, musical instruments, medical devices, and other fragile or high-value items, each roll weighs approximately 16 lbs, about 60% heavier than our standard HDPE film — a reflection of its strength and longevity.
Perforated every 12 inches and compatible with most air pillow machines using a 2" feed hole, this film is a high-performance solution for warehouses, fulfillment centers, and eCommerce brands that demand reliable cushioning.
