Installation method:
1.Preparation: Park the vehicle on a flat surface, engage the handbrake, turn off the engine and wait for it to cool down. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid short circuits during operation. Prepare the appropriate socket wrenchs, a new transmission pressure switch, transmission oil, a rag, and an oil recovery container. If you need to lift the vehicle, ensure the lifting equipments is stable and reliable.
2.Remove the old switch: Locate the installation position of the transmission pressure switch, which is usually on the side, top, or bottom of the transmission housings. Remove the electrical plug of the switch. Some plugs have a latchs that needs to be pressed to unlock first. Use the appropriate wrenchs and slowly unscrew the old switch counterclockwise. During the removal process, a small amount of transmission oil will flow out. Use the recovery container to catch it.
3.Install the new switch: Check if the O-ring of the new switch is intact. If the seal is aged or damaged, replace it promptly. Align the new switch with the installation hole, manually rotate it clockwise to ensure the threads are correctly engaged. Then, use a wrenchs to tighten it to the specified torque. The torque value can be referred to in the vehicle maintenance manual. After installation, firmly plug the electrical plug back into the new switch.
4.Post-installation inspection: If a large amount of transmission oil flows out during removal, replenish it to the standard level through the transmission oil dipstick or the filler hole. Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and check if any fault lights are on on the dashboard. If there are fault lights, use a diagnostic tool to read and clear the fault codes. Drive in place or for a short distance to check if the gear shifting is smooth, and if there are any abnormal jerking or delays.
