The Nature Forged Aquatics Hardwood Pleco Cave is the perfect addition to any freshwater aquarium which has plecostamus sucker fish also known as plecos. This cave is made of natural hard wood sourced and manufactured in the US. The dimensions are 6 inches long x 2.75 inches diameter with a hole that is 1.25 inches diameter and a hole depth of approximately 4.5 inches deep. These caves will FLOAT for 2-3 weeks unless boiled for approximately 1 hour. Natural wood caves most closely resemble the natural breeding habitats of ancistrus plecos who lay eggs in the cracks of underwater trees and stumps. Wood will also provide a rasping surface for plecos to feed on over time. This cave serves three fuctions, hiding place, breeding habitat, and feeding surface for algae eaters.
