There is much fascinating history behind these 2 stamps. They constitute the FINAL ISSUE of Nazi Stamps (they came out only about a month before Germany's defeat in 1945). They are also among the rarest and most sought after Nazi stamps because their purpose was to commemorate the SA and SS, the two elite units that formed the core of the Nazi military machine.

One is dedicated to the SA, the other to the SS. The SA man holds a burning torch while the SS man carries a machine gun. Both stamps are bright red, which highlights the eerie lighting on the men's faces. Both remain in mint, unused and uncancelled condition!

These stamps represent the "last hurrah" of the Third Reich and a nostalgic farewell to its most lethal fighters, and it's quite fitting that they were issued as Allied Forces were closing in on the last bastions of Nazi resistance.
