This is a highly-versatile, fluorescence microscope with an infinity-corrected Plan optical system and LED Koehler illumination. The fluorescence epi-illuminator uses a 100W mercury-vapor arc-lamp, producing a wide spectrum, including ultraviolet. Blue- and green-excitation filter-blocks are included, with an optional ultraviolet/violet assembly available. For brightfield lighting, the Koehler illumination system employs an LED sub-stage light-source with a field-diaphragm for precision control.
The quintuple nosepiece provides quick access to five objective lenses (4X,10X,20X,40X,100X). The Plan achromatic objectives provide excellent correction for both chromatic abberation and field geometry. With the 10X wide-field eyepieces, the magnification ranges from 40X to 1000X. The Siedentopf head-design allows for compensation-free interpupillary-adjustment.
