ASR1001-X | Cisco ASR 1001-X System | Crypto | 6 built-in GE The ASR1001-X is a part of the Cisco Aggregation Services Router (ASR) 1000 Series, which is designed for service providers and enterprise networks that require high-performance routing and services. It is a 1 rack unit (1RU) service provider edge router that is designed to support layer 3 VPN (L3VPN) services. Its compact form factor has a built-in Route Processor, Embedded Services Processor (ESP) and Shared Port Adapter (SIP) Interface Processor. ASR 1001-X has a built-in modular interface card that supports a variety of interface options, including Gigabit Ethernet, T1/E1, and VDSL2. It supports soft-ware redundancy and is based on a Quad-core 2.13GHz processor with a 4 GB memory, 8 GB flash memory. It provides for the Pay as you grow forwarding throughput which allows the customers to upgrade their forwarding throughput in accordance with their need, starting from 2.5 Gbps to 5,10 and 20 Gbps. The router includes high performance security features for Crypto, firewall, VPN and Network Address Translation (NAT) sessions.
