W10913953 Washer Shift Actuator
The actuator has an optical sensor that tells the washing machine when to shift from one function to another.
It shifts the transmission from agitating to spinning, and if the part is not working correctly, the water will pump out of the machine, but the spinner will not work to spin water out of the clothes.
When the actuator fails, the washing machine will make loud noises when it is supposed to switch from agitating to spinning. The actuator should be replaced to keep the machine working.
Installation Steps:
1)Disconnect the power and water source from the machine.
2)Remove the water hoses and drain line.
4)Tape the lid shut and lay the washing machine on its front side so that the bottom is accessible.
5)Remove the panel off the bottom and locate the actuator.
6)Remove and replace the actuator.
Important Reminder
1)This is a manufacturer substitution. And, unplug the dishwasher before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.
